Buffering

What does self-care look like for you?

A lot of times we think that buffering, or masking our emotions with TV, food, or scrolling social media is self-care.

But that’s just avoiding addressing what is really going on up there.

Next time you are tempted to grab the junk food, scroll social media or flip on the TV ask yourself:

What am I feeling?

What thoughts might be triggering my emotional state?

Do I have a decision to make that I am avoiding?

What could I do to offer myself some love right now instead?

Then show up with some real self-care like a self-pep talk, a big glass of cold water, some fresh air or a hot bath!

Remind your brain that you are ok, and you are worthy of love!
